Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment Policy (BBBEE)

The objective of BBBEE is the social and economic upliftment of South Africa’s historically disadvantaged communities and individuals through improved access to the economy. By helping others to grow their businesses and provide employment, Barefoot Teacher creates new opportunities for historically disadvantaged communities, organisations and individuals.

Barefoot Teacher’s BBBEE policy is implemented as follows:

Direct Empowerment – 100% black ownership; 40% female ownership; 100% black management.

Human Resource Development – we regularly re-invest in training.

Indirect Empowerment – wherever possible, we outsource to historically disadvantaged service providers.

Social Investment – we contribute materially to a number of community and educational initiatives.
